MENTAL HEALTH

Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Intermittent Explosive Disorder are just a few of the mental health disorders that  cause people to seek help.

Depression- Satan uses the negative events and situations of our life to depress us. The dictionary defines depress as “to lower in spirits: SADDEN.” “Depress means to sink, to press down or to hold below ground level.”

Learn to identify the cause or source of your depression. Depression oppresses a person’s spiritual freedom and power.  The longer depression is allowed to remain, the harder it becomes to resist.  Discover how to counteract depression and be able to have victory over it. God can lead you out of your depression to a life that is fulfilled and peaceful.

Anxiety Many of us spend our days with much anxiety and worry.  Time is spent worrying about what has already taken place or what may take place tomorrow.  They attack your mind and take your focus off God.

What does it mean to worry?  Webster defines worry as “to feel uneasy or troubled, to feel anxious, distressed or troubled, a source of nagging concern.”  In the counseling experience we can look at what the Bible says about worry and anxiety and the struggle we have with being obedient.

There are many things that may help struggling with anxiety or worry.   Skills can be learned to calm yourself during an anxiety attack The actual and true cause of the attack.  A counseling relationship will give opportunities to address the anxiety and to look for the root causes.  There is hope for those experiencing worry and anxiety.
