Curses vs Blessings…

In reading A MORE EXCELLENT WAY,  Wright encourages us to read Deuteronomy 28. As God’s people came into promise, they were immediately brought into a place of discernment.  What was the discernment?  Choice! You are going to choose what you are going to believe. You are going to choose which path you shall follow.  God was bringing a very powerful truth to His people– in your obedience to Me and My commandments, which is best for you, the blessings are immediate and close by.
A question that may come up is “If I am saved, why do I have disease?”  Wright calls it appropriation of what was done at the cross.  Just like because Jesus died for our sins, we are not saved automatically. We have to appropriate it by faith.  We have to admit, believe and commit. (ABC).  With healing it is the same. Just because Jesus heals doesn’t mean we are going to be healed. We need to appropriate it by faith.  We need to be sanctified.  Cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit.  2 Corinthians 7:1. It is not by the world’s standards we need to line our lives up with it is the God’s. This is a life time process.  As God shows your filth, it is up to us to choose whether we are going to follow him or not.  If we choose not to, then we don’t receive the blessings.  If we choose to be obedient then God’s blessing will flow.  I have seen God’s favor fall on me so many times because of simple obedience.  He is so good.
It doesn’t matter what I say.  The truth is in God’s Word. I am grateful to Dr.  Wright for putting this book out and walking us through what the Bible says about healing. This book is easy to read and it pulls out the scripture that backs up his comments.   God is good and if you seek the truth then he will show you His truth.
