Don’t Date The Bible – Marry It
“all scripture is the breath of God” 2 Tim 3:16-17. Today we are talking about God’s Word. It reprograms our mind for success. It tells us how to talk and how to act. As we read the Bible it can heal us and make us a strong person of faith that God wants us to be. It simultaneously closes the door on the devil – deceiver – and ends his reign of terror. I must admit I too struggle with this. I strive to do it everyday but there are days that when I get up things seem really busy and it gets put on the back burner which means it does not get done at all. Maybe I need to schedule it like I do everything else in my life. Do you too struggle with this?
Jimmy Evans says we need to not just date the Bible but we need to marry it. I like that concept. When we are married we want to spend time with each other. We want to learn about each other and be each others cheerleader. So as we spend time in God’s Word, marry it, get to know it, become God’s Cheerleader. God’s Word is truth.
