Today I read Romans 6:22 “But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sactification and it’s end eternal life.”. The thing that is jumping out at me today is “being set free from sin.” We don’t have to sin. When there is something that we know is not good for us, something that is could harm us or just plain, we know God is telling us to not participate in it; we can take that to God and be free of that sin. Pretty cool. Seems pretty simple. But I know many people that continues to struggle with giving something up. What is that about?
The other part of this verse says we recieved fruit that leads to santification & eternal life. When you are obedient to God we will see fruit. Do you see fruit in your life? Fruit leads to holyness. It seems like a dominoe affect. When we choose to be obedient, then comes fruit which leads to holyness and eternal life. I love that pictures of what happens with simple obedience.
