Quarrels

Today we are talking about fighting.  This is what 2 Timothy 2:23-24 says, “Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.  And the Lord’s servant must not quarreling; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful……..’  Read to the end of the chapter to be enlightened more. Good stuff.
We live in the world of Facebook and other social media which we are allowed to share. Because we share there are others that feel like they have the right to gossip which they call informing, judgement which they call discernment, misogyny which they call authority, anger which they call righteous indignation,  put downs which they call constructive criticism, lust which they call appreciation, arrogance which they call confidence, profanity which they call it passion, hate which they call debate and misconduct gets re-framed as Christian duty.  I am still of the old school that everyone has the right to their own opinion but unless I ask you, you don’t have to share it with me.  Let us start to respect others and be nice.
As Christians we are gifted for influence.  We are actively teaching how to speak, love, related, fight, hate, encourage, discourage, build up and tear down in the name of Jesus.  What are you teaching in your class room?  Good question.
