“This is the assurance we have in approaching God: that I we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us –whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE ISSUES
Many people discover that legal or illegal substances help them to cope with life’s many problems. They find that masking their emotions makes life seem easier but in reality it may lead to serious consequences.
God has designed negative emotions to be warning signs to address something that might be going on. Branch Counseling can assist in identifying the reasons why we use substances. Addiction education is also important in recovery. As we learn about addiction we can better put things in place to stay safe.
Most substance abusers believe they can stop using drugs on their own, but a majority who try do not succeed. Research show that long-term drug use alters brain function and strengthens compulsions to use drugs. These cravings continue even after drug use stops. Branch Counseling can encourage the client to stay on the right path, support during possible relapse, guide the steps and give hope. Research shows that positive Christian counseling is significantly more effective for long-term success in stopping addictive behavior.
