Just Show Up
Just Show Up. In “When God Interrupts” Barnes talks about the most important thing we do is to show up. We are responsible to show up with a vision of what God is doing in the world. Right now, I am sitting in my chair, drinking my “special” coffee, reading a bit from “When God Interrupts” and Hebrews 4.
I just love the fact that God’s Word gives me what I need. Today in Hebrew 4, it says that “if we believe, through, we’ll experience that state of resting. But not if we don’t have faith. God rested the seventh day, having completed his work. Those earlier ones never did get to the place of rest because they were disobedient. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
Yesterday, as I worked out I listened to a podcast by Bryan Chapelle. He talked of his journey to connect with God. We can be good followers if we spend time with God each day. He says we can be GREAT followers if we give God our first of the day. This was on my mind as I got up this morning.
My first day at giving God the first of my time; the best of my time.
I love this time of year. I love the cool breeze. Bible open. Listening to God first thing of the morning. Talking to God. Listening to him. Getting my instruction for the day. Getting plugged in. Wow what an incredible experience. But you have to show up.
