Today Beth talked about our calling. Just keep showing up and working hard at whatever He puts in front of us. In counseling, one of the things I see is that the lack of purpose. There is discouragement because of this lack. But Beth here says that your calling is whatever He puts in front of you right now. God is working all around us in people lives. We can be part of that work if we pay attention. Beth says, Your calling is not behind you. It is in front of you.
Remember last I wrote that our job is to give grace by encouraging and loving others. We can’t do anything about what has happened in the past but we can change the future. We also talked about being entrusted with sharing the gospel. My passion is to see others grow closer to the Lord. It energizes me and excites me. So regardless of what you do, God will put others around you, so you can show others Jesus. That is your calling.
In Timothy 2:11-13 Beth shares Paul quoting “If we disown Him, He will disown us. But as a believer if we are faithless God is still faithful.” That gives me hope. I don’t have to be perfect but I can move forward and strive for the prize. Because God says…..”When we cross the finish line of our calling and God calls us home we will receive our prize.”
