False Hoods

Today’s reading in The Quiet Place is great for today.  As we see children trick or treating they are dressing up as clowns and pirates but are really not. They are pretending.  2 Corinthians 3:18 says “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

We do the same thing.  We often go around masquerading as “good Christians” when the truth is inwardly we are not like Chirst at all but rather are lazy, selfish, bitter, & angry.  Often  our real heart comes out in conflict.
But if we keep our eyes steadily upon Jesus, enabled by the power of His indwelling Spirit, we soon begin to think  as He thinks, to love as He loves, to obey as He himself obeyed the will of His Father. To be like Him.  Inside and out.
I often say to my clients, I have to plug into God everyday inorder to be connected to him and to have his power that God gives us to live a life that is obedient to Him.   A light is not going to shine if it is not plugged into the sourse of power.   Make sure you are plugged into God.
