Fight The Good Fight

This morning as I start my Bible Study Beth starts off with talking about her mentor. That completely brought the tears.  I have been trying SO hard to have joy and not to be so sad.   I am choosing to press on.   The scripture today is 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith.” Comforts me that Linda had fought the good fight. Her life was hard and she in now at rest with her Heavenly Father.  I have to have joy at that.
Beth shares that when the end comes we are totally expended. Poured out.  This life we have lived, this ministry we have given is a drink offering to God.  Death will not mean loosing.  Yes loosing the hardships and horrors of this world, the disappointment and despair, the pain, anxiety, hunger and sleeplessness.  Nothing poured out on the feet of Jesus is cheap perfume.  So we enter into glory. We will be given a Laurel wreath of completion. He will say good job, good and faithful servant.
So when we see the hardships of the end times: persecution, rejection, oppression, infighting, reviling, and hiding, remember the Church will survive because it is Christ’s.  At times it might be quieted but it could not be killed.  God is so good.
