Help for the Weary

If feels so great when you wake up feeling refreshed after a good night sleep. That was the case this morning for me after having the hard memorial over and good test results for husband.  I praise God for it all.  Today the reading is Help for the Weary in The Quiet Place by Nancy DeMoss. She leads off with James 5:14, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”  The church should be able to take the ointment of Scripture and apply it to each other’s needs.
It is hard, as I have been reading A MORE EXCELLENT PLACE,  by Henry Wright, we should be able to experience Heath by keeping ourself in a state of repentance. We should be able to apply the principal’s of God’s Word and find healing.   I have been working on this for almost a year.  But over the last 4-5 months I have developed an ulcer and I have a hieta hernia.  What do you do when you have been affected by the world’s pain?

Nancy says As long as we are in these bodies, we will experience varing degrees of pain, distress, and difficult emotions.  That is what I have been experiencing.  Am I carrying the pain of others?  The relief of having things over and having good news provided much relief and I am thankful.   The focus of our lives should be on the glory of God and His redemptive purposes in this world. True joy is abandoning ourselves to that end.
How can the church help in that process?  How can we offer something better and more pure as God’s Word to a hurting world?

Reading your article helped me a lot, but I still had some doubts at the time, could I ask you for advice? Thanks.
