Don’t let the sun go down on your anger…

In A MORE EXCELLENT WAY, I am starting chapter Seven, Fear, Stress and Physiology.  Wright quotes Proverbs 17:22, ” A Merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones”. A broken spirit or a broken heart could have an impact on our health.
Ephesians 4:26 says, “Be ye  angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:”   Wright says when we don’t resolve our anger by sundown, disease is beginning to take hold in your body by morning.  Other scriptures to support this are Romans 12:18, James 3:16 Galatians 5:19-21. Unresolved anger causes stress which causes  disease.
As I ponder on this, it makes so much sense.  If we don’t resolve our conflict there continues to be anxiety.  We will not have peace.   God has called us to peace.

I believe this with all my heart. Love is forgiveness. Prayer is salvation.
