Holy Heartbreak
“You have not obeyed my voice. What is this you have done?” Judges 2:2, In today’s reading Holy Heartbreak in The Quiet Place by Nancy DeMoss, she wonders when she talks about our sin, what our sin and unfaithfulness does to God. Our sin breaks the heart of our Lover-God who created and redeemed us for Himself. When we sin, it is like we are treating His grace as if it were cheap and something to be lightly retarded.
In our world, sin just runs rampid. Christian Couples are moving in together and it is not a big deal. Heterosexual in not the norm any more. We teach our children that when we trick them, it is alright, where really it is teaching them to lie. We spend our time “catching up” on others lives where really it is probably gossiping. We can dabble with witchcraft, sorcery, Satanism and that is alright. I could go on and on and on.
The Bible has a lot of instructions in it that we don’t know because we don’t read it. Lord, help me to not play with fire and risk getting burned. Show me your truth and convict me of things I need to change. Help me to be obedient to you and not judge my neighbors. Help me to have the fruits of the spirit in Galatians 5:22 -24. And not by Galatians
5:19 – 21. Can’t get much clearer then that. Help me to be all that you want me to be Lord.
