Power of the Tongue

Today I am reading about the Power of the Tongue. The Bible teaches that if you gossip or slander about your neighbors it is equal to murder. Proverbs 18:8 says “The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly” and Proverbs 18:21 says ” Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. “
Wright shares that we are either blessing each other or cursing each other with what we say.  Are we building up or tearing down?  We are suppose to be gifts to one another.
In my line of work, people come in and it is amazing how much they remember about what people say to them.  It is a really a shame that we just can’t be nice to each other.  I know that I am not perfect.  But I try to be obedient to the Lord. I am going to mess up and not get it right.  Or you might now hear what I say correctly because of your filter.  My goal is to be nice and be too others what I would like.  I am also choosing not to be offended by others.   What an idea.
Let us practice being a gift of encouragement. Practice, practice and practice.   As we practice…encourage each other.
